Fire Within 2

"Fire Within” is built in layers of hot pink, coral and orange, held against cooler passages of teal, grey and pale mint. Broad, translucent areas sit over more worked sections, while scraped marks, drips, thin horizontal lines and flashes of black create movement across the canvas.
The painting feels bright and full of energy, but not tidy or controlled. There is a push and pull between the vivid colour and the darker marks underneath, as if something is trying to break through. For me, it holds the feeling of heat that keeps shifting, building and refusing to settle.
