Passing Notes 3

Turquoise and green give this series its open, spacious feel, interrupted by flashes of hot pink, peach and orange. Sweeping black marks appear between the blocks of colour, while loose white loops and long drips travel across the surface.

The title suggests an exchange, a mark made here and answered somewhere else. Shapes and colours recur across the three paintings without following quite the same pattern, giving each its own rhythm. The work was created as a tryptych but each piece stands on its own, with shared details connecting the works when shown together.
